Hands-on Training on Adaptation Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in Bhutan

IGES held the first session of a workshop in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of climate change adaptation on 18–19 September 2025 in Thimphu, Bhutan. 22 officers from several ministries in Bhutan participated in this workshop. Through the workshop, participants deepened their understanding of different types of indicators: process, output, and outcome, and recognized the importance of setting both quantitative and qualitative indicators for effective MEL.

The second workshop will highlight how the GGA indicators agreed at the international level can be appropriately applied in Bhutan.

AP-PLAT conducted a field assessment on Early Warning System in Bangladesh

AP-PLAT conducted a field assessment and an expert meeting in Bangladesh as part of the AP-PLAT capacity building program. In identifying the current situation and challenges of Early Warning System (EWS) of the country, the assessment found out that the EWS lead time is short and insufficient. There is a need for strengthening the capacity of local disaster prevention committees and creating flood risk maps. Also, an SMS-based multi-channel alert system through collaboration with telecommunications providers is one alternative proposed to solve the existing problem
