Collaborative Discussion Session Focused on AP-PLAT's New GCF Content

The National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) AP-PLAT hosted a focused meeting on Green Climate Fund (GCF) content development, bringing together key professionals from leading organizations across the Asia-Pacific region. This intensive session aimed to enhance AP-PLAT's support for developing countries accessing GCF funding through comprehensive content development.

Representatives from six major organizations shared their expertise and insights for strengthening GCF proposal development and implementation processes. AIT RRC.AP presented their extensive experience in adaptation planning and innovative tools for climate impact assessment. ESCAP contributed valuable perspectives on regional coordination mechanisms and integrated approaches to climate finance.

Venue

UNDP shared critical insights on practical GCF proposal development, including detailed processes for NDA engagement, sector-specific climate information requirements, and project evaluation methodologies. They emphasized the importance of tailoring approaches for different sectors such as agriculture, coastal protection, and water resources.

IGES focused on integrating sustainable development considerations into GCF proposals, while CSIRO provided valuable input on scientific data frameworks and evidence-based proposal development. APN shared their research network expertise and approaches to strengthening scientific evidence in proposals.

This collaborative session provided valuable insights for improving GCF proposal development and implementation processes across the Asia-Pacific region. AP-PLAT will continue to work with these organizations to enhance climate change adaptation strategies and support developing countries in accessing climate finance.
