Nepalese government officials participating in JICA’s Project on Climate Change Adaptation through Sustainable Forest Management visited NIES on September 15, 2023. Dr. Hiroya Abe from the AP-PLAT team delivered a seminar on “The need for climate change adaptation and the role of the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT).”

Regarding participants’ affiliations, some were from Nepal’s Ministry of Forests and Environment (MOFE), while others represented various regional government offices in Gandaki Province.

The AP-PLAT team would like to express its gratitude to the participants for their attention and for the thoughtful gift of a traditional handmade Nepalese calendar. We trust that their time at NIES and the entire JICA program will prove invaluable in their efforts, particularly in their mission to ensure sustainable forest management in Nepal.
